  • Not much to add to all the many other glowing reviews about this lovely cottage. Could quite happily live here very comfortably. Really a beautiful cottage. Dined in the village pub on Saturday evening, excellent food and staff.

  • Stunning cottage in a beautiful little village. The local pub was great and the kids room really well set out for them. The house was clean and well stocked with core kitchen items you'd need, a log burner and lovely bedrooms. Slight issue (not the fault of the host) at check in, which Laura told us proactively about and resolved rapidly. Definitely a place I'd like to return to. Thanks for having us all!

  • Our stay at Laura's Chapel Cottage waws everything we'd hoped for, easily large enough for our party of six to walk, relax and repeat. The cottage is beautiful in its layout and position in Winton and has everything you need for a short or longer break. Winton is quiet but near enough to the vast array of things to do in the region. Leading up to our stay Laura was very helpful and quick to answer anything easing my stress in arranging my wife's birthday celebrations there.

  • Lovely 3 days spent at Chapel Cottage as a family of 5 and a dog. Cottage was just lovely, very cosy and had everything we needed. Great location for exploring. The local Bay Horse was lovely for an evening meal. Will definitely be back - thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Spacious, warm, comfy space in a rural/farmland setting, just a couple of miles from the loveliness of Kirkby Stephen.
    We enjoyed runs and walks with the dog on minor roads and footpaths and cooked meals in the well equipped kitchen. There was a problem with a shower but Laura responded quickly and someone came round very soon. There are two showers and a bath so it wasn't much of an inconvenience. We had fabulous, clear, sunny, chilly days with a frost overnight. Beautiful.

  • We wanted a 10 day recharge our batteries and relax holiday and this place delivered it in spades. The home is beautifully decorated with all the things you would have at home. There was a lovely welcome pack and a folder full of local information emergency numbers and things we might like to do while we were there. Laura was kind enough to accept our 2 Saint Bernards to stay there with us and they had a lovely time. Great walks around the area and the people are very dog friendly on the whole. We would recommend this home and this host 100%.

  • Chapel Cottage was beautiful. Situated in a lovely little village, it was exactly what we were after. It was cosy, homely and well equipped. The bedrooms are spacious and the super kingsize bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. All bed linen and towels were clean and the kitchen was pristine. Very impressed with the communication from the host prior to our stay and would definitely stay again.

  • Chapel Cottage is the perfect combination of rustic charm with all mod cons. Spacious and comfortable, it was ideal for a long weekend stay for a wedding in a nearby village. Our adult sons had fun playing Fifa on the xbox one afternoon! The local pub is a gem and everyone is so friendly. With stunning scenery all around, beautiful birds and cute lambs in the small field across the road we found it hard to drag ourselves away.

  • This is one of the best holiday rentals I’ve experienced. Such a beautiful cottage in a pretty village amongst stunning scenery. It was my choice for continuing my 60th birthday celebrations with three special friends. There is everything you need in the cottage as it is extremely well equipped. Laura is a fabulous host and always responded in a timely and helpful way. The local pub was a great recommendation… the food and service was spot on. Yes we will definitely be back. Highly recommend this cottage. It’s perfect. Oh yes and a lovely sunny patio for evening drinks too!

  • We stayed in this lovely cottage over the Christmas period. It was the perfect place to stay for us and it was exactly what we were looking for. We felt at home immediately. We couldn't have asked for better service. We were greeted with a lovely hamper and the folder had everything you needed to know about the cottage. The cottage is spacious and very homely. The fire kept us very warm. We didn't need to ask Laura for very much but if we did need anything she would have responded. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • What a gem! Situated in a very scenic and peaceful village. Great walks in every direction. Kids loved it! Park and pub is in close proximity. The cottage is a great size for a family, three large sized bedrooms and three bathrooms. Very clean with a lot to offer. The Xbox, karaoke machine and football table were a great success with the kids! Our dogs also enjoyed their stay! Will definitely be returning.

  • Gorgeous property with large rooms and ample bathrooms! It's located in a picturesque village, with a top notch pub, and stunning walks nearby. We had a fabulous time and really fallen in love with the area. It's a tight community with wonderful people!

  • We had a wonderful long weekend break over Easter. There were 5 of us plus a puppy, and the location is perfect. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Lots of things to keep the kids entertained with board games, Xbox, and table football. Great to have access to sky including all the sports action, and 3 lovely spacious bedrooms made it really comfortable for all 3 generations staying.
    The village is beautiful, and the food in the Bay Horse pub is amazing, and caters for our many different diets.
    The walks around the local area and beyond are completely stunning. It feels like being in the Lake District without all the people and traffic. We will definitely return.

    It's has everything you could wish for, it's very comfortable, fitting 6 adults easily.
    The local pub is excellent with great food and friendly staff.

  • The beautiful, spotlessly clean & well-equipped Chapel Cottage in the idyllic village of Winton was pure delight as a base for our holiday October. It was fabulous to be able to spend time with relatives we haven’t been able to see for so many months. Laura, the well-organised owner, was responsive & extremely helpful. The location was/is perfect. So much to see & do round & about & a week is nowhere near long enough. I was very impressed with the Century Chinese Takeaway in Kirkby Stephen. The Bay Horse Pub in Winton serves excellent food in a very friendly atmosphere - & dogs are permitted in the bar area. Highly recommended. The Rams in the opposite field were the highlight of our stay - they spoke to us every day! 😍. The weather could have been better, ie ‘dry’, but nothing can be done about that & it didn’t prevent us from seeing the beautiful area. Can’t recommend this beautiful home highly enough. As there is still so much for us to see, we definitely hope to be back in the very near future. Thank you 💖.

  • We have just returned from a fabulous few days in this beautiful, spotlessly clean cottage. Plenty of space, well equipped, comfortable and very well appointed.
    Pretty village with excellent pub food available.
    Central location for the Lakes and North Yorkshire but plenty to do locally with some excellent walking. We look forward to returning soon.

  • We love this cottage, the village and lovely friendships it brings. The village pub is very friendly and welcomed our dog, Max! The space in the house is roomy and well laid out. Our daughter and Son in law joined us with our granddaughter, Olivia and it proved to be well equipped for all!
